My art depicts figures, animals, plants and objects that often interact with the materials used. The aim is to create a multi-dimensional effect, both conceptually and aesthetically. I frequently work with natural or reclaimed materials since these are often part of the stories I want to tell.

My images deliberatelly juxtapose the bold, with the delicate. Both as far as the mark making and style is concerned, but also as part of the subject matter. This duality or contrasting aspect, reflects the different sides to me as well as the stories I tell.

My art is influenced by my Scandinavian upbringing with its minimalist design language and natural materials. As I grew up, this world of calm visual beauty got abruptly interrupted when I discovered comics and their impactful ability to freeze action in time. Another main source of inspiration is my love of the natural world with its plants and animals.  

These visual sources of inspiration sit in tension with the busy, brash and fleeting language of the media world that often inform the conceptual aspect of my work. It’s a world I know well as a multi award winning advertising Art Director.

My mission is for my art to act as an emotional catalyst for connection with the bigger story of the world. Linking contemporary culture with the eternal values of humanity. 

I hope for my art to capture a societal snapshot of our time in history.
